... first Friday mass.  I haven't attended this beautiful mass in far too long.  The mass is celebrated at the nearby abbey, and the University of Dallas' beautiful polyphonic choir provides the music.

After missa we're heading out to grab a late dinner of sushi with a coworker of mine.

Is it just me or has sushi become the new fish sandwich or fishsticks of the Catholic world?  It has for us, at least.

I'll be honest.  I was in a very foul mood this morning as I departed for work and the work day only exacerbated the issue.  That being said, what did I return home to this afternoon?

... as I made hummus for Jacob and a friend/coworker as they tried to work their way through stacks of grading.

Today my mother sent this picture of our youngest brother, Sam, to me and my siblings.  It was one of the highlights of a very rough Friday of what's felt like the longest week of the school year.

I cannot wait to see this guy when I head back home to the sunshine state in ten days.

PRAYERS! would be appreciated.  As one of the top candidates for the PhD program for English, Jacob will be spending his Sunday and Monday going through interviews and evaluations, competing for the few slots the university has for the fall.

Good part about the whole thing is that the university told us that even though we lived relatively close by, we should feel more than welcome to take advantage of the complimentary hotel this weekend.  The university is in a lovely area of town with fun shops and restaurants, so we're taking them up on it and spending two nights away ... albeit only thirty minutes away.
